Brooklyn Heights by Born In Brooklyn

My favorite frame from the Born In Brooklyn Spectacle Co. is a design called Brooklyn Heights, which is one that I personally own and wear regularly.  Named after an established and posh residential area of Brooklyn, this frame is a nice look that is a little bit hipster and a little bit preppy.  The keyhole bridge adds a retro touch, while the blue marble matte finish on the front gives it a trendy GQ look, especially since marble colors are on point for 2018 trends.  The tortoise shell temples keep it classy, and ensure you will look stylish and sophisticated at the office as well as when you meet up after work for drinks.  Now let's look at that hinge...

Zero G Ventura

Today I am writing about a new Zero G frame called Ventura.  This is a frame that stylistically broke some new ground for the Zero G brand.  I have been a purveyor of fine eyewear for many years now, and my experience with Zero G goes back to 2010 about one year after the brand first launched.  In the early years the brand was known for a variety modern metal styles, although these styles were generally conservative in their overall look.   A couple of years ago designer Tom Cody introduced a range of acetate frames into the Zero G collection.  Keeping with the generally conservative look and feel, these acetate frames have added a nice set of colors to the...

Face A Face Does 1960's With Nemmo 1

The latest round of sunglasses from our favorite French design house Face A Face has taken us back to the 1960's.  I watched throughout 2017 as the small John Lennonesque round shapes trended heavily, and I was super excited to see these larger and more glamorous round women's sunglasses emerge near the end of the year. This beautiful design is available at Hicks Brunson Eyewear in a light blond tortoise and a dark brown tortoise seen pictured above.  The dark brown tortoise has a crystal clear bridge and an equally clear set of temples, which creates a unique floating lens effect.   Click here to shop Nemmo 1

Mitte by Etnia Barcelona

This new design from Etnia Barcelona is made of metal and plastic.  It is a nice navigator shape that is big, bold, and packs a punch.  I love it.  Add it to the sunglasses that make a statement file.  You're going to turn heads when you wear this one while you are out and about town.   Click here to shop this style

Tom Davies Horn Eyewear

Today I am reviewing a frame by Tom Davies that is made from buffalo horn.  This frame has a horn front consisting of multiple layers.  It is one of my favorite combinations of horn colors.  The front layer, which is the outside layer everyone sees, is brown with streaks of white while the back layer is all white.  The white back layer is quite thick, which really emphasizes the white and the fact that what you are wearing is no mere plastic frame.  It almost has a bone like appearance to it since the finish is matte rather than shiny.  It looks so raw and real I just love it.  The white horn comes from African buffalo, whereas brown and...
