Cocktail Party For Fashion Week
This was the inaugural year for Tulsa Fashion Week. When I learned that many of our fellow merchants of Utica Square were going to be participating I knew we needed to be a part of it in some way. We decided to host a trunk show for Tom Ford Eyewear during the day, and then a cocktail party that night. The event was a huge success, and has begun what will now be an annual thing.

Some of the major features of our party included a DJ, catering by Ludger's, wine by Girouard Vines, models wearing our eyewear and clothing from Miss Jackson's, and a Hollywood style Step And Repeat Wall with a red carpet for our guests to take their picture in front of. We also had several parking places sectioned off with chrome stanchions and velvet ropes.

DJ Brady from DJ Connection really kept the atmosphere hopping. He was playing great songs and a variety of trance music, which set the tone so nicely for our red carpet and Step And Repeat Wall. We had a selection of Tom Ford sunglasses on hand by the wall for our guests to wear while they were taking their picture. We encouraged them to share their pictures online with the hashtag #myHBE in order to be entered to win a free pair of Tom Ford Sunglasses.
Jade Gotcher did a fantastic job as usual pulling wardrobe from Miss Jackson's and modeling our eyewear so well. Model Michayla Franklin from the Linda Layman agency was also there modeling our eyewear and mingling with our guests.

A notable guest at our party was Linda Layman herself, who I had the pleasure of meeting by way of an introduction from Wendi Johnson. The Linda Layman agency provides the best, most highly trained models in the Tulsa area. Other notable guests included Dr. Blane Snodgrass and Brandon Miller. Brandon is the Director Of Financial Development for Prevent Blindness Oklahoma, an organization that Hicks Brunson Eyewear is proud to sponsor and support. They provide vision screening tests for grade school students in schools all across Oklahoma.

One of my of my most memorable moments of the night was getting to take a three generation picture with my dad, my granddad, and my brother in front of our Step and Repeat Wall, which is pictured above.

At one point I found myself being interviewed by a reporter from the Oracle newspaper at ORU, and later I was being filmed by a young student from another school who was making a documentary for a class project.
It was well after 9:30 by the time we were done taking everything down and were able to close up shop. I have to give a shout out to the team from Ludger's Catering. Those guys were top notch, and even assisted us in moving the tables and stanchions back inside the store after the party. I highly recommend using them for any of your special events.
