American Optical - General
The quintessential aviator from the company that originated the style. A favorite of U.S. military pilots for more than 50 years. Engineered to rigid military specifications and built to last, they’re the only aviator you’ll need.
The lenses in the General are made from glass, which offers superior scratch-resistance and optical clarity when compared to plastic or nylon lenses.
Choosing the right lens for you:
Grey Lenses are the most neutral option, as they control the brightness of light without affecting color perception, but do not provide the contrast of green or brown lenses.
Green Lenses provide a balance between the color neutrality of grey lenses and the high-contrast provided by brown lenses.
Brown Lenses are excellent for providing contrast and reducing brightness at the expense of not having a color neutral tint.
Polarized Lenses are available in combination with many tint colors. This frame includes polarized lenses in the Rose Gold frame. The main function of polarized lenses is to reduce glare by creating a filter within the lens that only allows parallel light rays to enter the lens, thus blocking glare coming from above and below your line of sight.
