Transitions Academy: Day 2
So today was my second day in sunny Orlando, FL. Click here to read my post from day one. I am here for Transitions Academy, which is a massive educational event for Eyecare professionals that is by invitation only. I am so grateful to have been asked to come because I am learning so much and meeting so many great people. I am writing this post on a bus that is taking a large group of us to dinner and bowling so I will keep it short. I learned something super insightful regarding Transitions lenses today. The photochromic coloring used in the Chromea7 technology blocks a significant amount of harmful blue light both indoors and outside. This is exciting news because blue light has been strongly linked to age related macular degeneration which leads to blindness. Now we know that anyone wearing Transitions lenses is protected not only from damaging UV rays, but also from blue light. The picture above is from a modeling competition that I participated in with my new friends Ryan and Darryl. Darryl there in the middle got to be our model.
