Fall Sunglass Guide
Fall is here and that means it is time to think about sunglass styles for the season. I have looked at current trends and timeless designs and projected what I think is going to continue to trend as we head into fall and winter. I have compiled a list of eight frame styles both classic and trendy, and I believe there is something for everyone here.
The Vintage: Masunaga GMS – 805 in antique gold and wood grain with vintage green lenses. This is a combination style draws back to the 1940’s. Who better to make this frame than Masunaga Optical since they had already been making eyewear for over 30 years by the time this style arrived on the eyewear scene.
Who it’s for: Men or women
The Classic: Masunaga 063 in tortoise shell is a classic shape for the discerning individual who does not follow every new trend and loves that timeless look. This style is also available in matte black with gold mirrored lenses for those whose skin tones are complimented by bolder darker colors.
Who it’s for: Men or women
The Aviator: The Born In Brooklyn by Zero G in the Charcoal Gun color is a modern take on a classic style. It looks great on men and women, and was designed from flat sheet surgical titanium for style and comfort. It is also available in shiny gold with gold mirrored lenses.
Who it’s for: Men or women
The Cat-Eye: Bocca Divine by Face A Face Paris is a sexy fun shape for women and on point with trends this fall. The Eyecessorize blog has written in their fall trends guide that “frames for babes walk a fine line between simply eyewear and wearable artwork.” The idea of wearable artwork has been taken up a notch with the unique temples on this frame designed to look like a woman’s leg wearing a high heel.
Who it’s for: Women
The Butterfly: The Siren by Sama is made from a combination of black and gold with flat lenses. Black and gold colored frames are quite strong now will continue to trend in eyewear for the foreseeable future. This shape has been hot this year, and will continue to be going forward.
Who it’s for: Women
The Top-Bar: The round shape represents one of hottest trends in sunglasses this year, and it creates a knockout look in this elegant gold and champagne combo. It is the perfect complement for an outfit that is elegant. Gold sunglasses also pair nicely with beige and white colored clothing, especially cardigans and sweaters. These sunnies have the added benefit of featuring glass photochromic lenses that will darken in the bright sunlight so your eyes will always be comfortable. I was excited to see that ocular health and lifestyle blogger, Dr. Amanda Rights over at Optomeyeslife.com included the Ferlandina in a complementary group of clothing and accessories for fall on her Favorite Finds Blog for September.
Who it’s for: Men or women
The Navigator: The 9004 by Masunaga in black and gold titanium is hand made in Japan for comfort and style. This timeless look is perfect for round and oval faces.
Who it’s for: Men or women
The Oversize: Make a bold statement this fall with the Swimm 3 by Face A Face. The current oversize trend happening now in women’s sunglasses is going to get stronger going forward. The Swimm 3 is a bold, boxy shape with subtle feminine features making it the perfect choice for women who are into fashion.
