Oppenheimer | Eyewear From The Movie
In this post we explore two iconic frames worn in Christopher Nolan's epic movie Oppenheimer.
Robert Downey Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, and anytime the movie is seen through his point of view the scenes are shown in black and white. Downey Jr. wears the Times frame by American Optical. The Black Crystal color of the Times looks beautiful in the black and white footage.
Jason Clarke playing Roger Robb wears the Tournament, also by American Optical, in Black Tortoise. This model dates back to the 1950’s as well. It was originally described as “a bold masculine frame for those who enjoy the challenge of competition.” That’s why it was perfect for Jason Clarke to wear as he portrays US attorney and courtroom veteran Roger Robb, who was handpicked by Downy Jr’s Lewis Strauss to prosecute Oppenheimer's security clearance.
