The Apollo by Masunaga
“Be not afraid of going slowly, be afraid of standing still.” -Japanese Proverb
I would also add to be not afraid of the sun’s harmful UV radiation and protect your eyes by wearing this sharp looking sunglass named quite nicely after the god of the sun: Apollo.
Every once in a while there is a great wayfarer inspired frame that fits medium to larger faces really well. Apollo by Masunaga Optical is that frame. You don’t have to be a Greek god to wear it, you just have to have a refined sense of style.
Apollo features the famous Masunaga five barrel titanium hinge with finely engraved, beautiful patterns on the hinge lugs. These engraved patterns repeat on the metal detailing that separates the middle portion of the temple from the temple tips. The smoky grey front looks quite nice next to the matte black temples and the dark gunmetal hinge lugs.
All of this fine detail speaks to the essence of what Masunaga is known for. They say wisdom comes with age, and you can certainly see the wisdom in the eyewear designs of this one hundred and eleven year old company.
